FDA Ban on NMN in Supplements

And what that means for Staay Longevity, our NMN product, and our customers…

Dear Staay Customers,

In October of 2022, the FDA issued a ban on manufacturing supplements with NMN. A large pharmaceutical company filed drug patent MIB626 on a highly refined version of NMN, and although there is a lot of pushback from manufacturers, distributers, and many consumers, the FDA has started the process of reclassifying NMN as a drug rather than a supplement because of the financial interest shown by the pharmaceutical company.

While there is a lot we don’t know,
there are a few things to consider:

The FDA’s stance on banning all forms of NMN (not just the unique, highly refined version created by the pharmaceutical company) is being challenged and will hopefully be reversed, though this could take months or years. Unfortunately, it’s very likely that it will not be reversed and that NMN will be pulled from US markets, but as for when/if this would happen, we just don’t know.

• As of this past week, Amazon and Walmart have pulled their NMN products, so it’s possible (but not certain) that the FDA is beginning to send out letters enforcing their current decision.

Because we have yet to receive any communication from the FDA, Staay will continue to sell NMN for our pets as long as we can.

Many, many people (and their pets) have found the benefits of NMN to be of huge significance in their quality of life, and because we are unsure of how long we can sell our Longevity NMN product, we of course urge you to stock up.

Lastly, I truly want to thank all of you for your support, and I hope that we can continue to provide access to this wonderful little molecule for our pet friends all over the US. We will update with other information as it becomes available!

Please reach out with any questions you have; I’ll be happy to answer them!
